Recently,
Muthig Environmental has completed a project involving a high
mountain wetland in northern Peru. It included the evaluation,
field investigation, sampling and analysis of samples from the
wetland potentially affected by asphalt and kerosene. The project
involved evaluation of surface water, soils and groundwater within
the wetland for bacteria, nutrients and potential contaminants.
Muthig Environmental
is currently involved in projects in Montana, South Carolina,
North Carolina and Florida. The projects involve assessment of
natural resources, contamination assessment and remediation, and
environmental forensic investigation.
Future projects
involve the evaluation of phyto-remediation as completed by researchers
at the University of South Carolina. The research has shown preliminary
successes in degradation of certain metals associated with gold
mining.
Muthig Environmental
continues to investigate new methods to evaluate and remediate
soils and groundwater with petroleum and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
